A market research company specialized in consumer marketing research supports companies producing foodstuffs with the introduction of new products. To this aim, test persons are being interviewed about taste, packaging, price and other criteria. In addition, the behaviour of the test persons is being observed using several camaras. These video and audio signals are being recorded simultaneously and used for further analysis.

Since this analysis of the video footage is time consuming and quite cumbersome and synchronous play back possibilities are limited, the company was looking for an alternative.

Solution

At the heart of the new system ICUE-RECORDER is positioned. It records multiple AV sources simultaneously. With ICUE-PLAYER it is possible to access the ICUE-RECORDER from every desktop. It also offers the tools to select specified sources and to stream them perfectly in sync.

The synchronous playout of the selected streams on the 2x2 video wall is supported by ICUE-GRID. The window sizes and their position on the video wall is completely flexible and is configured by using a browser. For example, the most relevant video window can be made larger and the secondary ones smaller. By using a slider, the user can jump to every position in the video. Concurrent live viewing during the observation session is possible. The export function offers the user the possibility to select important scenes and export those to an external USB memory.
